We believe every local church has the same mission: to proclaim the gospel and make disciples of Jesus Christ. Our vision is to join God in the unique ways He leads, guides, and provides for us to do this in our time and place.
Less than ten years ago, our church entered into a building project and capital campaign that consultants said we were crazy to entertain. Truthfully, many of us felt the same—and this was before the project was finished in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet, we trusted God to provide—and He did beyond measure.
The vision for that project and campaign was "Raise Up, Reach Out." While on one level, we were raising funds to put up a building, the prayer for the project became two-fold: the refrain of Psalm 67 and Jesus's command in Matthew 28:18-20.
In short, we saw the project as more than a new building; we saw it as a reflection of a God-sized vision: to raise up disciples of Jesus who reach out as disciple-makers for the glory of God and the joy of our neighbors and the nations in Him (who then are raised up to reach out, and so on, and so on ....).
We'd love for you to join us as we proclaim the Gospel and make disciples who know, love, and serve together.
Know personally.
In John 17:3, when praying on the eve of His crucifixion, Jesus proclaims, "And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent." This doesn't just mean knowing intellectually, but knowing relationally. So our first prayer is to know Him personally—then to know one another, our neighbors, and the nations personally as well. This is our head.
Love joyfully.
In Matthew 22:37, when asked to give the most important command, Jesus replies, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." It's a delight, not a duty. Thus, we don't just pray to know Him personally, but to love Him joyfully—then to love one another, our neighbors, and the nations joyfully as well. This is our heart.
Serve faithfully.
In John 14:15, when teaching His disciples about the Holy Spirit, Jesus instructs, "If you love me, you will keep my commandments." A few verses later, He adds, "If anyone loves me, he will keep my word." So we don't just pray to love Him affectionately, but to serve Him faithfully—then to serve one another, our neighbors, and the nations faithfully as well. This is our hands.
