Through January, we will be collecting blankets for the Afghan refugee families who were resettled in our area last year. There is an immediate need for small blankets children can take with them on the bus to school. Some of the kids are riding the bus 2+ hours a day to get to and from school. There is no heat on the buses and they are cold and tired. Blankets are also needed in all sizes for families. This is their first winter here and while they have bedding, they do not have the extra layers to stay warm at night. All blankets need to be new. They can also accept handmade blankets.
