Worship is our Spirit-empowered, Christ-exalting response to who God is and what He's done for us. We can do this individually, but each Sunday we do it together as a church.
The biblical word translated "church" means assembly. Coming together, therefore, isn't what we do; it's who we are. In Hebrews 10:24-25, we read, "And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near."
That's why we gather together—His glory and our good. As Dietrich Bonhoeffer writes, "The physical presence of other Christians is a source of incomparable joy and strength." Yet, too often, church gatherings can feel like an impersonal concert followed by a TED talk. If that's been your experience, we'd love to invite you to "a still more excellent way," to borrow from the apostle Paul (cf. 1 Corinthians 12:31). We'd love for you to join us as we sing, pray, and preach Christ—and do it together.
We sing.
Too often, churches divide over music. Yet, we believe music is a good gift that God has given us for His glory and our good (cf. Ephesians 5:19, Colossians 3:16). It unifies us around the One to whom—and about whom—we sing. We're blessed by a talented team that leads us weekly in gospel-centered, Christ-exalting worship through music.
We pray.
Too often, churches give little thought to prayer. Yet, Paul says it should be our first priority (cf. 1 Timothy 2:1-7). Thus, while we don't "sow seeds" or "name and claim," we do declare our dependence on our Lord each and every week in and through prayer. Together, we bring to Him our praises and our petitions each and every week.
We preach.
Too often, churches treat the Gospel like advice rather than news. Sermons become little more than guilt-driven pep-talks for self-improvement. Yet, Paul encourages Timothy to "preach the Word" (cf. 2 Timothy 4:1-5). Thus, Pastor David is committed to grace-fueled sermons that exalt Christ and declare His Gospel (cf. Colossians 1:28-29).
