Announcements - October 11, 2020
9AM Outdoor Service Moves Indoors This Week
Because of the threat of rain this Sunday morning, we are moving the 9am outdoor service indoors this week. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the beginning of the service, if possible, so we can allow enough time and spacing between families entering the sanctuary. We will have an overflow space available if needed. Please be prepared to follow our guidelines related to COVID-19 while you are indoors.
Family Fall Festival
The Family Fall Festival for our church family and Awana families will be held on Saturday, October 31st from 2:00-4:00pm. There will be games and activites for your kids similar to our trunk-or-treat events in the past. Costumes are welcome! If you are interested in helping, deocrating a car or parking space for a game or activity, volunteering, donating candy, or just bringing your kids, please use the Sign Up Genius to let us know how you will be joining us that afternoon.
Deacon Ordination
On Sunday, October 18th, we will hold our deacon ordination ceremony for the three new deacons elected in August. The ceremony will be held outside immediately following the outdoor worship service around 10:00am. For those who join us inside for the 10:30am worship service, please make plans to arrive a bit early to welcome and pray for these men.
Woven Campfire Social
This Friday, October 16, Woven will gather at Anita Lambert's home for s'mores and fellowship at 7pm. S'mores and beverages will be provided. Please bring your own chair to relax with plenty of space for physical distancing outside by the fire. If you have questions or need directions and location information, please contact Amy Owen.
September Financials Available
The financial reports for September are now available. Additional financial information was sent out in the weekly email. If you have any questions or concerns about the finances of the church, please see Trudi D'Ambrosio, church treasurer.
Operation Christmas Child
The COVID-19 global pandemic has disrupted the lives of millions of people around the world. Yet, there is Good News! Christmas is coming and we will celebrate with great joy the birth of our Savior and Lord! The Operation Christmas Child season will soon be upon us, and Green Level Baptist Church has the opportunity once again to share the hope of the Gospel with boys and girls around the world. Collection Week is November 16-23, and the processing centers will be open November 24-December 19. Although COVID-19 has mandated modifications in collection and processing, both locally and nationally, we know the members at Green Level want to prepare shoebox gifts in some way. There are several ways you can help - prepare of box online, pack a traditional box and bring it to church or donate items for others to pack for you. Click HERE for all of the details!
North Carolina Missions Offering - UPDATE
The final total for the North Carolina Mission Offering from Green Level Baptist Church this year is $3,085.00. Thank you for your generosity and supporting the spread of the Gospel throughout our state through missionaries, mission projects, camps, and church plants.
Family Ministry Night - October 14
This Wednesday, October 14th, is the beginning of our 2020-21 Awana program. With no fellowship meal served during this time, Awana will begin at 6:00pm. Our students (grades 6-12) will continue to meet at 5:30pm, but will move indoors to the 3rd floor of the education building. If you have not yet registered your child for Awana, you will still be able to do so this week. After that, registration will close. Depending on interest and availability, a new registration period might open for the spring. If you have any questions about Awana, please reach out to the Awana team. If you need further information about our family ministries or student program, contact Pastor Marshall.
Kids Ministry Fall Launch
Last Sunday, we were excited to launch our children's fall programs. Our kids are a vital part of our church community and bringing them back onto our church campus for in person Sunday School and Awana is one of the next steps we can take together after much of what we did was suspended or paused during the pandemic. We realize not everyone is ready to come back yet. But, rest assured that when you are ready we will be here to welcome you. Children from birth through 5th grade are invited to join us for Sunday School on Sundays at 10:30am during the in person worship service. We hope providing this time of learning and fellowship for your younger children allows some of you who have been unable to return up to this point to come back. If you have any qusestions about our kids ministry, please reach out to Pastor Marshall.
Worship Service Resources
Each week we will post the order of service and Sunday worship service materials on the website by Sunday morning. We will send out a link each week so you can access the announcements, song lyrics, family ministries resources, the order of service, and more. If you would like to be added to the list who receives those texts, please email Angela.
Livestream Continues
We will continue to offer our livestream service at 10:30am and welcome our church family into the building. We know there are all kinds of reasons you need or choose not to come to an in-person service. We remain committed to serving all of you and providing a worship service that meets you where you are. If you will remain worshiping with us from home, click HERE to access the livestream.
In-Person Indoor Worship Service
We invite you to join us at 10:30am Sunday mornings! We ask that you arrive no more than 15-minutes prior to the service, enter through our new welcome center and wait to be seated. Our greeting team is ready to welcome you! We also ask that everyone wear a mask per the latest government recommendations. We are spacing families out throughout the sanctuary to maintain a minimum of 6 feet of physical distance. In the event we fill up the sanctuary, we have an overflow room available where you can watch the live service. While it may look and feel a bit different, it is good to be in the House of the Lord with our church family!
Sunday School on Campus
Some of our Sunday School classes are meeting on campus inside and outdoors. Other classes meet virtually. A few classes have taken a hybrid approach offering both. If you are interested in joining one of our Sunday School classes, please reach out to Kenneth Ragland, our Sunday School director for more information.
Family Resources for Worship
Each week resources will be posted to help you teach and worship with your child(ren) at home. Make sure you check these out each Sunday and reach out to Pastor Marshall for extra guidance or if you need additional resources while we are worshipping at home. Click HERE to access the resources.
