Every year, North Carolina Baptists join together during the month of October to focus on praying for revival and spiritual awakening across our state, nation, and world. The "Pray for 30 Days" prayer emphasis in October paves the way for our Annual Meeting in November. This year, we are inviting our church family and friends to participate. Click here to access the prayer guide.

In conjunction with the "Who is my Neighbor?" prayer focus during the month of October, we are going to meet our neighbors through a community outreach. On Wednesday, October 31, we are heading out to area neighborhoods to pass out candy and interact with the people in our area. Three families will host groups at their homes to set up outside, greet trick-or-treaters and their parents, and pass out candy and information about our church. If you are interested in being a host home or joining a group, please contact Angela Tilly or Pastor Marshall. The church will supply tables, candy and church materials.

Mom mix and mingleWOVEN - MOMS MIX & MINGLE

Many have expressed an interest in growing the community of mothers, not only in our church, but also our community. On Saturday, November 3, from 8:30am-10:00am moms are invited to attend the first organizational meeting and fellowship of Woven, a group connecting mothers in Christ. We will meet in the administration building basement. It is open to moms and grandmothers of all kinds to build social and faith communities in Cary and surrounding areas. Come for breakfast, coffee, fellowship and information about the group and its upcoming plans. Please feel free to invite your friends. If you have any questions or are interested in serving as a mentor mom, contact Amy Owen or Jenna Baker.

We are building a group of volunteers to greet and assist guests on Sunday mornings. If you are interested in serving and learning more about our Connections Team, contact Pat Staley. No experience required!

With our congregation growing, the needs in our children's ministry are expanding! We will be creating two elementary school classes soon, as well as splitting our kindergarten through 5th-grade KidLevel group. We will need additional teachers and helpers to make sure our kids have the best experience while in our care. If you are interested in serving or have questions about what that entails, please contact Pastor Marshall

Next Level October 2018OCTOBER NEXT LEVEL

If you are interested in learning more about our church, we invite you to a class especially for you. Next Level is a 2-week class led by our pastors and staff. You will learn what the vision is for the church, the logistics of our programs and ministries and be able to ask questions. Dates are Sundays, October 21 & 28 at 9:30 a.m. Childcare provided. Please RSVP to Angela if you are planning to attend.

During the school year, we collect food for Apex High School students and families who struggle with food insecurity.  The school's food closet is managed by the special needs students who learn important life skills about sorting, food safety, and organization.  New or gently used backpacks are also needed for students to carry food home. Please place all donations on the table in the breezeway.

In October the focus of our collection for OCC is the $9 shipping fee per box. You can donate online here, print out your shipping label and bring it to the church. To raise funds for the shipping expense, there is a Pampered Chef party on Saturday, October 13 in the administration building basement from 10am-12pm. Proceeds will go to cover the shipping fees. Shoeboxed will be available on Wednesday, October 24 if you wish to pack your own. Saturday, November 10 is the church-wide packing party from 10am-12pm. All shoeboxes are due Sunday, November 18. See Judy Howell for more information.

The Operation Christmas Child processing centers in Charlotte and Boone will be open from November 20 through December 15. (Closed Thanksgiving and Sundays) If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Caroline Smith, Mary Mills or Judy Howell. Families and groups are invited, as well as individuals, to participate with people from across NC and the nation to prepare shoeboxes for delivery around the world. All volunteers must be at least 13 years of age.
