CHURCH FINANCIALS & PROPOSED BUDGET AVAILABLE
The most recent church financial information and proposed 2019 budget are available here and on the information table behind the sanctuary. Giving was down in October ending the month in a deficit. However, we are still ahead for the year. Financials documents will be voted on at the quarterly church conference on Sunday, December 16. See Trudi D’Ambrosio or a member of the Finance Committee with any questions.
RAISE UP REACH OUT LUNCHEON & GROUNDBREAKING
On Sunday, December 9, the Raise Up Reach Out team will be hosting a luncheon immediately following the service in the fellowship hall to update us on the renovation project and what changes are to be expected in the coming months. A groundbreaking ceremony and time of prayer will be after the luncheon. The luncheon is free and members and guests are invited to attend.
AWANA KIDS CHOIR
The Awana kids will be practicing on Wednesday evenings during opening ceremonies for their choir special on Sunday, December 2 during the Sunday morning worship service. All families and friends are invited to attend. The kids will also sing for the residents at Spring Arbor in Apex that afternoon at 2:00pm. More information will be sent out to Awana families from the Awana leadership soon.
INTERACT ANGEL TREE
Once a year we have the opportunity to minister to those who have been thrust into horrible situations. InterAct is the only facility to provide shelter and support to domestic violence and sexual assault victims in Wake County. Please select an angel from the Interact Tree to give a gift that may be the only one that woman or child receives this Christmas season. Return unwrapped gifts no later than Sunday, December 2. Donations of wrapping paper and gift bags are also appreciated. For more information, contact Joice Mills or Eliza Williams.
On Saturday, December 1, there will be a church workday to clean out the portion of the building that will be demolished for the beginning phase of the renovation. All items must be removed from the area. We will meet at 8:30am. Some items will be relocated while others will be stored or thrown away. We will also use this time as a time to clean out other areas in the church that need our attention. If you have questions, contact Jeff Staley.
CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION & CHURCHWIDE CHRISTMAS PARTY
On Sunday, December 16th, we will host a night of worship featuring choir specials from our children and adult choirs and a short message from Pastor David at 6:00pm. Following the service, everyone is invited to participate in the churchwide Christmas party in the Fellowship Hall. Please bring your favorite dessert or appetizer to share.
CHRISTMAS AT CAMP
On Friday, December 14, we will head to celebrate Christmas with the girls from Camp Duncan and boys from Cameron Boys Camp of the North Carolina Baptist Children's homes. We deliver gifts and enjoy a time of worship while we are there. We will be collecting gifts for the campers and staff until we leave that afternoon. For details and a complete list of gift suggestions and clothing sizes, click HERE. If you can give a gift but not join us on the trip, please have your wrapped gift to the church by Friday afternoon. We will leave GLBC at 4:00pm.
QUARTERLY CHURCH CONFERENCE
The regular quarterly church conference will be Sunday, December 16th immediately following the service in the sanctuary. All motions and agenda items need to be made available to the church one week prior to the meeting, no later than Sunday, December 9.

APEX MOMS PRAYER GROUP
Mothers of Apex High students are invited to a prayer group on Tuesdays from 1:00-2:00pm at Apex Baptist Church in Room 313. Due to the sensitivity of the requests shared and to ensure the confidentiality of the students, this group is limited to mothers of Apex High students. If you have a prayer request or would like more information, please contact Jennifer Mobley.
AHS FOOD PANTRY COLLECTION
During the school year, we collect food for Apex High School students and families who struggle with food insecurity. The school's food closet is managed by the special needs students who learn important life skills about sorting, food safety, and organization. New or gently used backpacks are also needed for students to carry food home. Please place all donations on the table in the breezeway.
APEX CHRISTMAS PARADE
This year GLBC will have a float in the Apex Christmas parade on December 1st in downtown Apex. The band will sing Christmas songs on the back of a truck and you are invited to help pass out candy canes to the children along the parade route. It was great fun last year! Everyone is invited to participate. More details coming soon.
